DO YOUR FOOD CHOICES SUPPORT YOUR GOALS AND YOUR HAPPINESS?

DO YOUR FOOD CHOICES SUPPORT YOUR GOALS AND YOUR HAPPINESS?

Health Heroes! 🦸‍♀️

One of the most powerful questions you can ask yourself surrounding food is..

Do your food choices support your goals and your happiness?

If you have to think and the answer is “I think so” then the answer is probably no.

If it’s a yes, it’s going to be a big “YES”

And energetically you can feel the difference when someone answers the question sincerely.

It’s taken me years to get to a place where I can truthfully say that I have a healthy relationship with food.

But, it didn’t happen overnight.

It’s a process and that process looks different from person to person.

One of the best bits of advice that I can give to people who are struggling with their food choices on a day to day basis is learning to relax around food.

Everything in life is about ebbs and flows.

You’re never going to wake up one day.

Decide to eat clean and stick to it.

That’s just not the way life works.

Now you can create definitive “No’s” That last a while, sometime forever.

As an example, I am never going to choose to put aspartame in my body. Period. It’s never going to happen. (if you don’t know what aspartame is, it’s a chemical sweetener that has been known for awhile now to cause cancer in rats) I know that I will never choose to put that in my body for the rest of my life.

1.) because it causes cancer in rats. I don’t want cancer so that’s a no brainer.

2.) It gives me a terrible stomach ache.

No amount of “momentary pleasure” is going to make aspartame worth it for me.

So it’s a hard no.

However, something like meat was something that I told myself I wasn’t going to eat. And that lasted 8 years.

Then life changed.

My body changed.

And now I eat small qualities of high quality clean meat and it supports my goals and my happiness.

8 years ago eating meat didn’t support my goals and happiness.

Things change.

Circumstances change.

Goals change.

That’s life.

There is no such thing as a perfect diet.

So relax.

Learn to trust yourself again.

Put the joy back in eating, get excited about eating clean and be equally excited about eating something pleasurable.

And remember that the most important nutrient you can give your body is your own happiness.

I hope you’re all having a fantastic week and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow on group coaching!
