Health Heroes! 🦸♀️
I have good news for you today! Caffeine isn’t bad!
Did you know that caffeine increases the amount of dopamine receptors in your brain?
That’s right, drinking caffeine actually increases your ability to FEEL GOOD!
The key with caffeine is to not consume the same amount everyday.
Switch up the types of caffeine you are consuming.
I like to rotate between Matcha, Green Tea, Yerba Mate and Organic (Mold Free) Coffee.
Also, You want to wait 90-120 minutes after you wake up to consume any caffeine. This is because in the morning there’s a hormone called adenosine which is low when we wake up.
“In the brain adenosine is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. This means, adenosine can act as a central nervous system depressant. In normal conditions, it promotes sleep, suppresses arousal, as well as local neuronal excitability. When awake the levels of adenosine in the brain rise each hour.”
“Many people drink coffee first thing in the morning — but that isn’t the best time to get your caffeine fix. Drinking coffee right after you wake up may interfere with your body’s cortisol production. It’s best to wait at least an hour, ideally 90-120 minutes after waking up to drink coffee.”
“Adenosine builds up in your system. Caffeine is an adenosine antagonist.”
Allowing these levels to rise naturally is key to keeping your energy throughout the day.
Today I want to share with you one of my favorite caffeinated beverages.
Matcha Latte! What I like about matcha is… that matcha only contains about one third of coffee’s caffeine. Yet, thanks to its potent secret ingredient – the amino acid L-theanine – matcha is able to stimulate your brain in rather unique ways, naturally inducing anti-anxiety and euphoric effects in the process.
Matcha outperforms some of the absolute best superfoods, boasting 13x the antioxidants of pomegranates, 15x the antioxidants of blueberries and 125x the antioxidants of spinach.
One of my favorite ways to consume Matcha is as a Matcha Latte!
To Make This You”ll need:
1 Tbsp Sprouted Cashew Butter
16 oz Filtered Water
1 Tsp Ceremonial Matcha Powder
Bamboo Whisk (for mixing matcha)
Stevita brand Stevia Sweetener
3 Dashes Ceylon Cinnamon (Optional)
Blend Sprouted Cashew Butter and Water together, heat until warm to your fingers touch.
Mix Nut Milk and Matcha with Bamboo Whisk, ass Stevia & Cinnamon… and…
Voila!
Yummy, Healthy, Scrumptious Goodness for your Body, Mind and Spirit!
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
