Health Heroes! ♀️
We’ve all heard the term “Intermittent Fasting” before. ♀️
I used to think… Yeah.. Yeah… just another “diet.”
But it wasn’t until recent, that I have come to understand the incredible benefits of it!
It boils down to this…
Eat Less= Have More Energy.
“These days we live in a culture where we can eat large amounts of food whenever we want—24/7. Cheaply. Conveniently. And ever presently.
With smartphones, microwaves, packaged foods, and delivery apps, we can eat from morning to night, and through the night, so that we never have to go more than a couple of hours between meals.
A dietary pattern enforced by the scarcity built into our environment is now one we have to choose on purpose.”
Fasting by choice, on the other hand, has been a practiced for thousands of years, generally for physical and spiritual renewal, as penitence for sins, or to develop self-control. ♀️
Many religious traditions incorporate fasting, for as little as a day, but for as long as 40 days at a stretch.
Fasting as a form of political protest in the form of hunger strikes is also common.
And therapeutic fasting, specifically intended to treat or prevent ill health and chronic conditions, became popular in the 19th century.
What I’ve noticed most about intermittent fasting is that I don’t need as much food as I was eating to survive. And I definitely don’t need to be eating all day.
Intermittent fasting has sparked my creativity around what I eat. ✨
I’ve become more mindful during those moment of consumption.
I Am More Alert.
I Have More Energy.
I found a system that works for me.
Intermittent fasting can look many different ways. It’s about finding what works for you. I found that the “Warrior Fast” works best for me. I fast for 20 hours and have a 4 hour eating window. Eating between 3-7ish. This works best for me because I drink tons of healthy liquids throughout the day, like Fresh Green Juice, Flax Water, Green 85, Herbal Tea Tonics. And since we all know you don’t want to mix liquids with food. I found that focusing on getting all my liquids in during the day not only ensures me that I get all my liquids in but it also keeps me satiated (not hungry) throughout the day.
There are other methods like: 16 hours of fasting, 8 hour eating window.
Alternate day fasting: fasting every other day.
24 hour fasts: It involves eating no food for 24-hours at a time, usually once or twice per week on days of your choosing. Alternatively, you can eat one large meal for the entire day, and then not again until the next day at that same time — with 24 hours in between.
As you can see there are many different ways to fast!
There is no write or wrong way, just a way that works for you!
Experiment with it!
